Product Description

Stainless steel wire mesh is a mesh-like filtration material manufactured from stainless steel wire. Primary grades include SUS304, 316, 316L, 302, and 201, woven using plain weave, twill weave, or dutch weave techniques, with mesh counts ranging from 1 to 3200. It offers acid and alkali resistance, high tensile strength, and high-temperature tolerance, making it suitable for liquid filtration, mechanical protection, and high-precision filtration requirements in petrochemical, food, pharmaceutical, and other industries.

Material

Stainless steel wire mesh materials include various grades such as 201, 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 310, 410, and 430 to meet diverse requirements for strength, corrosion resistance, and application needs.

304 Stainless Steel

The most common grade, containing 18%-20% chromium and 8%-10.5% nickel. It offers excellent corrosion resistance and heat resistance, widely used in food processing, chemical plants, mining, and other industries.

316 Stainless Steel

Based on 304, it adds approximately 2%-3% molybdenum, providing superior corrosion resistance compared to 304. It is particularly resistant to marine environments and industrial atmospheric corrosion, suitable for harsh conditions.

304L/316L

Low-carbon variants of 316, where “L” denotes low carbon content. Offers superior weldability without requiring post-weld heat treatment, commonly used in more demanding environments.

201/202

Higher manganese content with relatively lower nickel content, resulting in lower cost. Often used for guardrail mesh, aquaculture nets, etc., but with inferior corrosion resistance compared to 304/316.

430

Contains ferrite, offering good corrosion resistance and magnetic properties. Commonly used in food processing.

Weaving Methods

Plain Weave

Warp and weft wire of equal thickness alternate in a 1x1 pattern, creating square, uniform mesh openings with high strength. Commonly used for filtration and screening.

Twill Weave

Warp wire pass over every other weft wire, while weft wire pass over every other warp wire, forming diagonal patterns. Offers excellent load-bearing capacity and high filtration density, commonly used for filtration, screening, and other precision applications.

Dutch Weave

Includes plain weave and twill weave. Warp and weft wire differ in diameter, typically with thicker warp and finer weft wire. Weft wire are arranged extremely densely for high precision. Weft wire pass alternately over and under two warp wire, creating a tightly woven fabric suitable for ultra-fine filtration in chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries.

Reverse Dutch Weave

Features fine warp wire and thicker weft wire, with the weft wire densely packed. Offers high strength and provides finer filtration.

Five-Heddle Weave

Warp wire pass alternately through one weft wire and four weft wire, forming rectangular apertures for high flow rates. Suitable for petrochemical filtration and high-flow applications.

Product Features

High Strength and Durability

The woven structure delivers exceptional mechanical strength and wear resistance, capable of withstanding heavy loads, impacts, and abrasion without deformation or damage. It remains robust and durable with a long service life.

Corrosion Resistance

Stainless steel exhibits excellent resistance to various corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, and salts, particularly grades 304 and 316L. Grade 316L demonstrates superior performance in seawater and industrial atmospheres.

Temperature Resistance

Stainless steel maintains stable performance and strength across both high and low temperatures.

Low Maintenance Costs

The smooth surface resists dirt buildup, while corrosion and wear resistance facilitate easy cleaning and maintenance, resulting in low long-term operational costs.

Environmental Sustainability

Stainless steel is 100% recyclable, aligning with green environmental and sustainable development principles.

Versatility

316 stainless steel wire mesh offers multiple mesh sizes, thicknesses, and weaving patterns, customizable for filtration, screening, separation, reinforcement, and diverse applications.

Products Applications

Petrochemical Industry

Used for filter screens, catalyst support screens, gas purification filtration, and sieve plates. Often requires acid and alkali resistant 316/316L materials.

Mining and Metallurgy

Used for ore classification screening, coal screening, and grinding media separation. Requires highly wear-resistant wire mesh.

Food and Beverage

Used for powdered sugar screening, juice filtration, grain sifting, etc. Requires food-grade materials and easy cleaning.

Pharmaceutical Industry

Used for powder sifting, particle grading, and liquid filtration. Demands extremely high hygiene and corrosion resistance, often requiring electropolishing.

Protection and Safety

Construction site perimeter fencing and fall arrest nets; ventilation screens for machinery guards; livestock enclosure cages.

Environmental Protection

Wastewater treatment; pretreatment for seawater desalination.

Architectural Decoration

Decorative curtain walls for light and ventilation control; wall cladding and partitions.

Automotive and Aerospace

Fuel and hydraulic fluid filters; spacecraft ventilation filters.
